I have dry skin and it gets worse with cold weather. I used to have normal to combination skin with shiny t-zone however, I guess my skin has changed over the time. The most dry part of my face is under my nose, around my mouth, and my chin area. Those dry area can be look very dry (makes make up look cakey on me) and even flaky if I don't moisturize enough with very moisturizing products. For a while I have been looking for hydrating foundations but even it says hydrating or moisturizing because I usually need to wear foundation 8o'clock in the morning till 11o'clock at night because of my work shift, after probable 8hours point my skin feels so dry.
Maybe about two months ago, I went to The Body Shop to pick up some body lotion, I saw this foundation.

Moisture Foundation SPF 15 |
I am sucker for sale or promotion. Yes I know I have problem but they were having buy two get one free promotion and since it says "moisture" foundation, I wanted to try. The SA color matched me and told me shade 04 is my shade so I picked it up. After probably two weeks I finally tried this and I hated it so much. First of all the shade was too light for my skin (I am NC25 to NC 30) and second of all it was NOT moisturizing at all! It dried up my skin like dessert so since then I never ever used it again until... I got this!

Vitalumiere Moisture Rich Foundation SPF 15 |
This is my the most recent foundation purchase through my friend who could give me some discount and as I mentions on my other post I did not have chance to color match before I bought this so the color I've got (30 Cendre) is a bit dark on me. This is the best moisturizing foundation with dewy finish (It has very creamy thin consistency.) and the coverage is light, almost like BB cream. With this I do not feel any dryness all day. The down side of this product is though it has pretty strong, floral fragrance which is okay with me most of the time but when I have headaches or feel sick, the smell start to bother me also the finish is too dewy that it makes my face shiny after three to four hours.
THEN I WAS THINKING 'What if... I combine Vitalumiere foundation with lightest color foundation that I have?' and there it was the birth of my HG foundation...

I use half pump of each foundations, mix them with my index finger then apply on my face. I also like to use my fingers to apply it on my face. The color matching is awesome, it mutes out strong fragrance, still moisturizing but does not make my skin look shiny or greasy, longer wearing, slightly better coverage than Vitalumiere by itself, and looks so natural on me (doesn't look like I am wearing make up).
If you have foundations that you don't like, try mix and match with other foundations. Who knows maybe you will find your HG foundation just like I did~
