Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lipstick in Exaltée (#93)

I am usually very careful with my makeups as they can be pretty fragile. I bought a Chanel lipstick a couple of years ago (that was my first Chanel makeup purchase) and one day I found the lipstick broke in half in the container for no reason. I tried to remember what I did with it. I did not drop, I did not take the lipstick all the way out when I was applying, I was not carrying the lipstick around... my final thought was maybe it was already broke in the container since I bought? It was such a mystery and since then I never bought any Chanel makeups for years. 

About a week ago a friend of mine told me that she can get some good discount on high end makeup products at her working place so I decided to give another try on Chanel makeups. I will be reviewing all the products that I've got but this particular post is for the lipstick. I love fuchsia lipsticks so much! They are just so pretty, exciting, and fun to wear!

Chanel Allure Lipstick in Exaltée (#93)

 Chanel Allure lipsticks are known to be very moisturizing on the lips and this one is no exception! On the lips it applies more to the glossy/semi-sheer side but it can easily build up to bold fuchsia color.

Excuse me for my face hmm hmm... haha ^^;;; I just wanted to show you how the lipstick looks. It was my day off and I was too lazy to wear entire face makeup so I am just wearing a sheer coverage but very moisturizing foundation it is Chanel Vitalumiere SPF 15 in 30 Cendre (this foundation feels more like BB cream to me) and Exaltée lipstick! For your reference, I am NC25 to NC30 in MAC term and since I am not tanned at the moment, 30 Cendre is a tinge bit dark on me but once the summer comes it will be the perfect shade. If you want to try fuchsia lipstick but you have been scared of how intense they are, try this one! You will fall in loooooooooooooove~~~~ just like I did!

Lipsticks for No Makeup!

Until recently I was not interested in makeup at all (I was too busy or lazy to wear makeups and I thought it is waste of money to buy makeups). I probably had like two lipsticks, one lipglass, a very old mascara that is almost dried up, one small palette of Maybelline eyeshadow, eyelash curler, one eye liner pencil that I don't like... that's all. I was wearing makeups maybe once in two month? or less? haha...... ^^;;;; I was more interested in perfumes, clothes, and shoes. One day I was at Ala Moana Shopping center, walking around and I was passing by MAC cosmetics, I happened to look inside and there's so many people in the store. I don't know why but suddenly got curious and decided to go in.

The amount of cosmetics they had made me feel so overwhelmed that I did not know where to start looking. When I stopped by at the lipstick section, one of the sales associate came to me and asked if I need any help so I asked her, "Can you recommend me a lipstick that I can wear without makeup?" She picked up a lipstick and tried on my lips. It gave the look that was so natural but much nicer than your natural lip color. I decided to pick up this lipstick and the same color lipglass. Can you guess what that color was? If you love lipsticks I am sure you already have this color in your collection. I think you can guess by now...

Yes!!! It is the famous Viva Glam V!

As you already know, Viva Glam V is universally flattering color which you can pull off anytime with or without makeup. It is a soft pink-nude shimmery color. This lipstick is pretty sheer on lips that depends on your natural lip color, it can look different from person to person.

Nars Dolce Vita Velvet Mat lip pencil

I am wearing Nars Dolce Vita Velvet Mat lip pencil

It is Nars Dolce Vita lipstick and Velvet Mat lip pencil. They are pretty pricey and a lot of people complaint about the color is nothing special compare to their price tag but! this is the color  you can wear everyday with any kind of eye look or even without makeup. When I feel super lazy to wear makeup but I don't want to look so plain/dead, I put this lip pencil on and I love the way it looks on me! I have Velvet Mat lip pencil, as I feel like this one lasts longer on my lips, has better color pay off than lipstick version, and if I want glossy look, I can always top the clear lipglass.

I AM WEARING RIMMEL LASTING FINISH 25HOUR FOUNDATION IN 200 SOFT BEIGE, NYC SUNNY BRONZER, FILL IN MY EYEBROW WITH BLACK EYESHADOW, AND ESTEE LAUDER LIPSTICK IN SOFT AMETHYST.

This lipstick is another favorite of mine! It is Estee Lauder lipstick in Soft Amethyst. It looks pretty dark in the tube but it comes out sheer (you can easily build up the color) and very very moisturizing on the lips. It is violet-pink toned lipstick but mostly neutral. Can be easily your everyday signature lipstick or when you don't know what do wear, slap this lippi on and you are good to go! 

COCO CHANEL MADEMOISELLE EAU DE TOILETTE

Way before I started collecting nail polishes and makeups, perfumes were my favorite things. I was only a student and had a part time job at that time so I only could afford a little. Me and my sisters used to go to duty free Galleria in Auckland city in New Zealand often to check things out (mostly window/eye shopping as we all were young and students) and we all fell in love with this perfume. After I graduate high school in New Zealand, I went back to Korea and I finally picked up a bottle of this perfume on the way back at duty free Galleria in Auckland airport and that was back in 2002.

One of the reasons why I like perfumes so much is not only it uplifts your mood/spirit when you spray but also it carries sentimental values. To me, this is not only a bottle of perfume but a history as every time I use this perfume it reminds me of our lives in New Zealand. Maybe that is why I did not want to use up this perfume as fast.

As I mentioned this is an very old bottle and surprisingly the scent never changed. On me it lasts about three to four hours maximum as it is eau de toilette. When I am done with this bottle, I would like to get the eau de perfume version.

You can wear this perfume pretty much all year around except extremely hot and humid summer days (I live in Hawaii and I still wear this perfume during the summer time because it does not get so humid in here!). This perfume makes me feel mature (but not like grandmother would wear kind of perfume), sophisticated, feminine, sexy, somehow cute and fashionable. I think it can be your office job everyday appropriate perfume but casual going out... not so much (BUT I do wear this whenever I want to lol...). It is a type of perfume you would want to wear to weddings, eat out to upper class restaurants, business meetings, going out for a date, and so on.

OPI Mod About You and Sally Hensen Lavender Marquis

Recently I am in looooooooooooooooove~~~ with lavender and light/pastel pink toned nail polishes which I was not a big fan of before. I was not interested in those colors as I thought they are not flattering with my skin tone and still I do not think they complement my skin tone. However, I guess I've become a bit more adventurous/brave with colors that I do not care too much whether they look really good on me or not if I love the color. It became more about what I want to wear lol...

I picked up OPI Mod About You at the local beauty store for $6.83+tax (10%off from the regular price) and Sally Hensen Lavender Marquis at longs drugs for $3.74+tax (25%off from the regular price).

Mod about you is a very opaque milky/baby pink color that is just perfect for spring and summer! You need two coats to get a good opaque coverage but I could still see the brush strokes after two coats. I love the color very much but not so much for the formula as it seemed to be streaky.

Lavender Marquis is a beautiful frosty iridescent lavender color. Although the application is super nice and smooth (you don't even need base coat), it has very watery formula with sheer color pay off. You need at least three coats (or even four coats but I do not want any more than three coats) to make it some what similar color that you see from the bottle.
It will look even gorgeous under the bright light or sun light. If you do not like shimmery sheer colors, this is not for you... Another good thing about this nail polish is that you can use this color as a shiny top coat on other nail polishes to give extra something!

Cupcakes! yammy in my tummy~~~

Although I love sweets, I was not a big fan of cupcakes but! But! BUT! it was before I tasted Hokulani Bakery's cupcakes. Probably about two months ago I had to go to USCIS immigration office for my appointment near Ward Center and I happened to see this small bakery store and it was pretty crowded so I told my husband that I want to check out the shop.
 

Off we went in and I see all kinds of cupcakes and cupcakes only (I was expecting them to have variety) what da... to tell the truth it was kinder disappointing to me because as I said I was not a big fan of cupcakes. Anyways my hungry husband wanted to try them so we decided to pick 8 different flavors of cupcakes (yes we were hungry lol...).



As soon as we went back to our car, my hungry bear (my husband) open the box and get a big bite out of the red velvet cupcake and looks and me with his eyes wide open and says "Wow, this is really good serious try honey!" so I was like "really?" with doubtful mind... but it was really Really REALLY GOOD! Although all of them were pretty awesome, my two of my favorites were lilikoi and red velvet cupcakes.

Now I understand why people love cupcakes so much and I can also say, "Oh~~ I loooooooooove cupcakes too~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"
